ProviderMatchAI

ProviderMatchAI is an AI-powered provider record matching product. It resolves messy internal provider data against a trusted national reference dataset, producing match decisions with confidence scores and plain-language explanations, so analysts can review and decide quickly.

overview

Healthcare provider data is fragmented across claims, EHR, and credentialing systems, and the same provider often appears under different names, addresses, or specialties across them. Analysts are left deciding record by record whether two entries refer to the same person. Today that work is manual. Analysts match on NPI where it exists, then fall back to name, address, and specialty, using Excel lookups and Google searches to fill the gaps. Enterprise tools exist for provider data, but they are built for IT teams to deploy rather than for analysts to use, and carry implementation timelines and costs that put them out of reach for smaller firms.

The cost is measurable. 45 to 55% of provider directories contain at least one error (Defacto Health, 2025), costing organizations an average of $2.4 million a year (Experian Health, 2025) and $3 billion industry-wide (IDC). Claims get rejected or delayed due to unrecognized provider records, and patients are directed to incorrect or outdated provider information. What is needed is a way to resolve the large majority of records automatically while leaving the ambiguous ones for an analyst to decide.

ProviderMatchAI applies machine learning to that problem. Provider records carry enough signal in names, addresses, identifiers, and specialties to train a model that scores how likely two records are the same provider, instead of relying on exact-match rules. Each result comes back with a confidence score and a plain-language explanation of which fields matched and which conflicted, so the analyst can act on it in seconds.
